1) Agreement of Service
By accessing or using this website, booking an appointment, purchasing a service, or downloading any resources, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. By accessing this website, booking a consultation, or purchasing products, the Client agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These terms establish a professional framework designed to ensure a safe and transparent therapeutic relationship.
2) Services and scope of practice
Kindred Roots is led by a qualified practitioner and registered with Naturopaths & Medical Herbalists of New Zealand (NMHNZ). Kindred Roots operates in strict accordance with the NMHNZ Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. Kindred Roots' expertise lies in evidence-informed naturopathy and medical herbalism.
If a health concern is identified as being outside the Practitioner's scope, they shall refer the Client to a GP or medical specialist. Acting on such referrals is a requirement for continued care. Acting on such referrals is a condition of continued care.
We provide naturopathy, nutrition, herbal medicine, and holistic coaching services. Our services are intended to support wellbeing and do not replace care from your GP, specialist, emergency services, or other regulated health professionals.
No medical advice: Information on this website is general education only and is not medical advice. Always seek appropriate medical care for urgent or serious symptoms.
Scope + safety: You are responsible for disclosing relevant health information (including diagnoses, medications, supplements, pregnancy/breastfeeding status, and allergies) so we can work safely.
3) Integrative care and Client safety
Kindred Roots operates a collaborative care model and prioritizes working alongside your General Practitioner and medical specialists. You agree to disclose all current medications, treatments, and specialist care to ensure your safety. We do not advise the discontinuation of any prescribed medical treatment; any changes to your pharmaceutical regimen must be managed by your prescribing physician
Our recommendations are complementary to, and not a substitute for, conventional medicine. If your needs exceed our scope of practice, the Practitioner reserves the right to refer you to a medical professional as a condition of continued care.
4) Health disclaimer and testimonials
The information provided by Kindred Roots is for educational and wellness support purposes and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Naturopathy is a complementary health modality and not an emergency service. Every individual is unique, and health outcomes vary based on genetics, lifestyle, and adherence to care plans. By engaging with our services, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your health choices and releases the Practitioner from liability regarding undisclosed conditions.Every person is different. We do not guarantee specific outcomes.
Testimonials and examples are shared for illustration only and do not promise that you will achieve the same results. Claims about services must not be misleading or unsubstantiated under NZ law.
5) Age eligibility
By using our services, you confirm you are at least 18 years old, or you have the consent of a parent/guardian (and the parent/guardian may need to attend sessions for minors).
6) Bookings and late arrivals
If you are running late, please notify us immediately via text or email. Your session may be shortened to accommodate subsequent clients, and the full consultation fee will apply. Any missed appointments without 48 hours' notice are nonrefundable. Kindred Roots maintains a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate or threatening behavior and reserves the right to terminate the practitioner-client relationship immediately if professional boundaries are breached.Booking: Appointments are booked via Practice Better or by email.
Intake forms: You will be asked to complete forms before your consult to support safe and effective care.
Late arrival: If you arrive late, your session may be shortened to avoid impacting other clients, and the full fee may still apply
7) Cancellations and rescheduling
Consultation times are reserved for you.
Rescheduling/cancellations: Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.
Late cancellations/no-shows: Will be charged a full consultation fee or that consultation will be considered used from your package. Missed initial consultations will be charged at $250.
Exceptions: I may waive fees at my discretion for genuine emergencies.
A 48-hour notice period applies to all cancellations or rescheduling. Failure to provide this notice will result in the forfeiture of the session fee. Rescheduling is subject to availability and the Practitioner's discretion.
8) Fees and payments
Prices are shown in NZD and are GST inclusive
A deposit is is due before the initial consultation unless otherwise agreed.
Package inclusions, timeframes, and payment plans are set out on the relevant sales page or invoice and form part of these terms.
If you are on a payment plan, you agree to pay instalments on time.
9) Refund policy
Services & Testing: Non-refundable once provided.
Herbal Formulations: As these are dispensed specifically for the individual, they are strictly non-refundable.
Digital Products: Non-refundable once accessed.
Consumer Rights: These terms do not limit your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 for faulty or defective products.
Kindred Roots follows NZ consumer law. Where services have been supplied, or packages have been purchased or payment plans committed too refunds are generally not available for “change of mind”.
If a service is not provided with reasonable care and skill, or is not fit for purpose as required by NZ consumer law, you may be entitled to a remedy. (For clarity: outcomes can’t be guaranteed in naturopathy.)

9) Digital downloads and intellectual property
All content, protocols, and materials provided by Kindred Roots remain the exclusive intellectual property of the Practitioner and may not be reproduced or shared without express written consent.
All content on this website (including PDFs, handouts, programs, blog posts, graphics, and videos) is owned by us or licensed to Madison Gerrits at Kindred Roots.
You may:
View and use materials for your personal, non-commercial use.
You must not:
Copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, or share our materials (including sharing logins or downloads) without written permission.
10) Delivery of goods
Physical products are dispatched via third-party carriers (e.g., Pass The Parcel) within one business day of payment confirmation, excluding public holidays. Items will not be shipped until full payment is received. While we ensure professional packaging, goods are delivered via third-party carriers; as such, the risk of loss or damage passes to the Client once the product leaves the Practitioner's premises.
11) Third-party tools and services
Kindred Roots may link to third-party websites or use third-party tools (e.g., booking, email, payment providers). We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or privacy practices.
12) Limitations and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Practitioner's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees paid by the Client for the specific service in question. The Client indemnifies the Practitioner against all actions, claims, and costs arising out of the performance of the Practitioner's duties or the Client's failure to provide accurate health information.
13) Complaints and concerns
If you have a concern about our services, please contact madi@kindredroots.co.nz I will aim to respond within 3 business days and work toward a fair resolution.
14) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and NZ courts have jurisdiction.
